About Robert Brown

Born here. Shoots here. Shares the skies and landscapes of Western Colorado.

Western Colorado landscape — Robert Brown's home territory

The Story

Robert Brown grew up under Colorado skies and never left. What started as a childhood hobby became a way to freeze time — storms rolling over the Mesa, the Milky Way arching above, Northern Lights flickering over the peaks.

A camera, to him, isn't just gear. It's a way to hold onto moments the landscape gives for only a few seconds. Astrophotography, storms, wildlife, wildflowers — if it moves or glows, it's fair game.

My Territory

The landscapes and skies of Western Colorado are my studio.

Grand Mesa

The world's largest flat-top mountain. Incredible dark skies for astrophotography, with alpine lakes, aspen forests, and dramatic weather year-round.

San Juan Mountains

Some of the most rugged and beautiful peaks in Colorado. Fall foliage here is unmatched — golden aspens against 14,000-foot peaks.

West Elk Wilderness

Remote backcountry with dramatic volcanic formations, wildflower meadows, and pristine dark skies.

Western Slope & High Plains

Wide-open spaces perfect for capturing storms, lightning, sunsets, and the Milky Way stretching horizon to horizon.
